Abstract:
This article presents theoretical contributions of Lacanian psychoanalysis for its practice, especially in situations of urgency and emergency. Some of Lacan's concepts are discussed, including 'Identification', the function of `object a', 'secretary to the insane', 'testimony', and some other issues that concern the therapeutic work. The authors have researched Lacan's last papers, in which the concept of trauma is linked to his notion of the Real and he stresses the importance of the analyst's acts in directing the treatment in urgency and emergency situations.
