POSITIVE UREASE TEST IN ADULT HORSE WITH GASTRIC ULCER - HELICOBACTER SP.?

ABSTRACT

Eight adult horses were evaluated by gastroscopy and samples of aglandular and glandular mucosae and gastric content were submitted to the rapid urease test. One of the animals presented a positive result. The possibilities thet this result indicates or not the existence of Helicobacter sp. in horses are discussed.
