ABSTRACT
This paper relates the falling of centenary kapok tree (Chorisia speciosa St. Hil. - Bombacaceae) in Campo Limpo Paulista, state of São Paulo, Brazil due to the attack of adults and larvae of Euchroma gigantea (Linnaeus) (Coleoptera, Buprestidae). Damages to aerial electric and telephone cables are also reported.
