EFFECT OF ACARICIDES AGAINST THE LEPROSIS MITE BREVIPALPUS PHOENICIS (GEIJSKES, 1939) ON CITRUS ORCHARD OF BEBEDOURO, STATE OF SÃO PAULO

ABSTRACT

The experiment was carried out in Bebedouro County, State of São Paulo, in the period of 3/10 until 7/26/2000, in order to study the effect of acaricides on Brevipalpus phoenicis (Geijskes, 1939) (Acari: Tenuipalpidae) in citrus. The products tested and dosages in g AI/100L of water were: Check; Flufenoxuron + Propargite (2.5 + 36 e 3.0 + 36); Flufenoxuron + Dicofol (2.5 + 36 e 3.0 + 36); Flufenoxuron + Clorfenapyr (2.5+ 6.0; 2.5 + 7.5 e 3.0 + 7.5); Hexythiazox + Propargite (0.75 + 36), Flufenoxuron (5.0) and Hexythiazox (1.5). All of the acaricides induced significant reductions to the population of B. phoenicis up to 60 days after the application. Flufenoxuron + Dicofol (2.5 e 3.0 + 36.0 g A.I./100L); Flufenoxuron + Chlofenapyr (2.5 e 3.0 + 7.5 g A.I./100L) and Hexythiazox + Propargite (0.75 + 36 g A.I./100L) were efficient up to 120 days after the application for the control of the leprosis mite B. phoenicis in citrus orchard.
