ABSTRACT
From 1984 to 1998, 341 swine tonsils collected in abattoirs from Valinhos, Vinhedo, Suzano e Itapecirica da Serra, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, were examined for the diagnosis of swine fever. Sixthy seven (19,64%) samples were positive by direct immunofluorescent test (DIFT) on frozen tissue. This study showed the swine as carrier this viruses.
