ABSTRACT
Studies on frugivorous flies in Mossoró/ Assu, RN, has been limited to species of Anastrepha and Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata (Wied.). However, survey carried out in orchards of Barbados cherry Malpighia emarginata (Malpighiaceae) in Mossoró/Assu, showed that in some conditions the lonchaeid Neosilba pendula can be important primary pest of Barbados cherry.
