COMPARISON OF ENRICHMENT BROTHS INCUBATED IN TWO DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES AND OF CULTURE MEDIUMS USED IN SALMONELLA GALLINARUM RESEARCH

ABSTRACT

The present study was aimed to evaluate the effect of two enrichment temperatures (37º and 42º C) and the acton of two selective enrichment broths and two culture agars, used for isolation of Salmonella Gallinarum in poultry. Aliquots of each sample of organs of the poultry experimentally infected with S. Gallinarum were inoculated in Tetrationato-Novobiocina and Rappaport-Vassiliadis broths. Brilliant Green and Hektoen agar were used for isolation of salmonela. The results showed that the Tetrationato-Novobiocina broth at 42º C associated with Hektoen agar provided the greatest efficiency of isolation of S. Gallinarum.
