ABSTRACT
Eighty-eight strains of Escherichia coli were isolated from broiler with chronic respiratory disease (CRD) in commercial poultry production farms in São Paulo State. E coli isolates were submitted to slide agglutination test with specific antiserum monospecific to O antigen. It was demonstrated that thirteen (14.77%), belonged to serotype O2, three (3.4%) to O21, six (6.81%) to O36, four (4.54%) to O45, three (3.4%) to O50, twenty one (23.86%) to O78, three (3.4%) to O88, four (4.54%) to O119, thirteen (14.77%) didn’t belong to serotypes know and eighteen were auto-agglutinate. These results obtained in this study reflects the worldwide trends in distribution patterns of E coli seroproups from broilers with CRD.
