PARASITOIDS (HYMENOPTERA: BRACONIDAE) OF FRUIT FLIES (DIPTERA: TEPHRITIDAE) IN MOSSORÓ/ASSU, STATE OF RIO GRANDE DO NORTE

ABSTRACT

Information on fruit fly parasitoids (Braconidae) are scarce in many regions of Brazil. Therefore, the objective of this paper was to know the diversity of braconid species and their percentage of natural parasitism in Mossoró/Assu, State of Rio Grande do Norte. Three species were recorded - Doryctobracon areolatus (Szépligeti) (96.6%), Utetes anastrephae (Viereck) (1.5) and Asobara anastrephae (Muesebeck) (1.9%). The highest natural parasitism level was 11.3%, in fruit fly larvae in “cajarana” Spondias sp. (Anacardiaceae).
