EVALUATION OF THIAMETHOXAM 250WG ON THE CONTROL OF LIRIOMYZA HUIDOBRENSIS (BLANCHARD, 1926) AND ITS SELECTIVITY ON PARASITIC HYMENOPTERA IN POTATO CROP (SOLANUM TUBEROSUM L.)

ABSTRACT

The efficacy of thiamethoxam 250 WG on Liriomyza huidobrensis and its selectivity on the parasitic hymenoptera fauna were evaluated in potato crop, in São Roque da Fartura, SP. The experiment was a randomized block design with six treatments and four replications. The products and dosages (g a.i./ha) were: thiamethoxam 250 WG (25, 50 and 75); cloridrate 500 (125) and methamidophos 60CS (60). A collection was made for 10 leaves/block to evaluate the total of mined leaves and live larvae. The evaluation of the selectivity at the treatments on parasitic hymenoptera was made by 48 Moericke traps. The results were calculated and tested by the F and Tukey tests (5%) and the percentages of efficiency were calculated according to Abbott. The results showed thiamethoxam to be efficient in the control of L. huidobrensis and selective for the population of parasitic hymenoptera fauna at the least dosage used.
