ABSTRACT
The poultry industry has been suffering with the effects of fungus infections.The aim of the present study had was the investigate of lung aspergilose the prevalence in one-day-old chicks. During the period of January to July of 2003 an investigation was carried out in 66 shares of one-day-old chicks, examining 10 birds in each flock. Lung fragments were collected from these birds and put in Sabourand Dextrose Agar, which was then incubated 41º C for 120 hours. After incubation, plate readings were done he colonies were classified in species or genus according to their aspects. Twenty-two flocks (33.33%) presented compatible results with Aspergillus spp., responsible for the aspergillosis.
