ABSTRACT
A study was carried out in a fig orchard 'Roxo de Valinhos', located in Campinas County, State of São Paulo, Brazil, in order to evaluate different fig ostiolar protection systems against Zaprionus indianus (Diptera: Drosophilidae) oviposition. Adhesive tag, gel and Bordeaux mixture provided a significant reduction of fig fly infestation. The foliar fertilizer Bordasul® showed no consistent results in protecting the figs from Z. indianus colonization.
