ABSTRACT
Pseudomembranous colitis is an inflamatory disease of the colon, characterized by presence of exudative plates superposed to a congestive and edematous mucosa. In this pathology, the colon appears coated by a copper color fluffy fibrous-necrosis material, over a red and injuried colonic mucosa. This is the first report of bovine pseudomembranous enterocolitis in Brazil. Long-term antibiotic administration, specially with enrofloxacine, probable was involved in the pathogeny.
