ABSTRACT
The Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV) is one of the most important plant virus in the world, with a large host range and great number of insect vectors and strains. The best results for diagnosis and characterization are obtained when the plant source of the virus has a satisfactory concentration. In order to evaluate the virus concentration in different hosts and periods of inoculation, electron microscopy of transmission was used the counting of particles. Nicotiana debneyi showed a higher particle concentration than Datura stramonium and Chenopodium amaranticolor.
