DAMAGE CAUSED BY STINKBUG (HEMIPTERA, PENTATOMIDAE) IN 5 CULTIVARS OF SOYBEAN (GLYCINE MAX (L.) MERRILL, 1917) IN ARAÇATUBA, SÃO PAULO STATE

ABSTRACT

A field experiment was installed on 30/11/2001 on the Santa Fé Farm in Araçatuba, SP. The experimental design involved the soybean cultivars: Conquista, Goiânia, IAC 18, IAC 8-2 and Jataí in the statistical delineation of randomized blocks design with 5 repetitions. The actual damages by the stinkbugs was evaluated considering the percentage of seeds damages, the power germination and the production. To cultivar IAC 18 was more productive and proved to be more resistant to the stinkbugs, presenting greater production viability in the presence of these pest species. The cultivars IAC 8-2 and Jataí were highly susceptible to damages by stinkbugs.
