FIRST OCURRÊNCE OF PARASITOID NASONIA VITRIPENNIS (WALKER) (HYMENOPTERA: PTEROMALIDAE) IN PUPAE OF PECKIA CHRYSOSTOMA (WIEDEMANN) (DIPTERA: SARCOPHAGIDAE)

ABSTRACT

This current paper has the objective of verifying the parasitism of Nasonia vitripennis in pupae of Peckia chrysostoma ocurring in human dung. For this purpose it was used the trap pitfall in which water, detergent and formaldehyde were put. The trap was buried in the floor and a pot of bait composed of human dung, liver and rotten fruits were fixed in it. The traps were collected bi-monthly, but the bait was changed weekly and afterwards analysed to verify the possible presence of pupae of this with parasitoids. After six collects, it was found in the bait of the human dung one (01) pupae of muscoid Peckia chrysostoma (Diptera: Sarcophagidae) with sixtythree (63) individuals of the parasitoid Nasonia vitripennis (Hymenoptera; Pteromalidae).
