EVALUATION OF THE SANITARY CONDITIONS BROILERS HATCHING HOUSE

ABSTRACT

The incubatory is a potential source of infection for the chicks. Economic loss due to onfalite in one-day-old chickens infected with Escherichia coli and pneumonia caused by Aspergillus sp. are common. The objective of this work was to evaluate the microbiological conditions of an incubatory in State São Paulo. The technique of plate sedimentation was the methodology used, with two culture mediums for grown specific bacterias and fungus. Thirty monitorings were executed, containg 50 Petri dishes in each exhibition, with two different culture mediums, Plate Count Agar and Sabouraud Dextrose Agar. After 24 and 48 hours of the incubation all the plates that presented growth of one or more colonies of bacterias and fungus were considered positive. The mean number of colonies , respectively, were: incubators 78 and 12; chicks room 120 and 13; hatch room 96 and 9; vaccination machine 105 and 18; eggs room 69 and 4; birth place 78 and 11; laboratory 78 and 11. We concluded that the incubatory needs microbiological control and adoption of desinfection practices, aiming at a better sanitary quality of one-day-old chickens.
