Abstract
The article is a written version of my oral comments on the paper “Capitalism and the Transatlantic Slave Trade: some broader implications of the intrusion of the Northern Europeans” presented by David Eltis during the 2019 Almanack Forum about the recent results of the The Transatlantic Slave Trade Database. I argued about the format of the Database, and how the Database team researchers faced the expansion, and adjustments of the Database along the last 20 years.
