ABSTRACT

This article analyzes the role of open-air museums in the preservation and enhancement of cultural heritage and their capacity to transform the urban landscape. These institutions are important agents for preserving culture and history, promoting the cultural identity of cities. The methodology involved consultations of technical documents, bibliographic research, and documentary analysis. Open-air museums provide a unique experience for visitors, allowing direct contact with artworks in a natural environment. The management of these institutions is essential to ensure the preservation of cultural heritage and the protection of the urban landscape. In this regard, it is important for local authorities and communities to be involved in the management of these institutions in order to promote the preservation and enhancement of cultural heritage. Thus, the aim is to provide a broader understanding of the role of open-air museums in landscape transformation and the promotion of cultural identity in cities.
