The case of a 32 years old white man with leptomeningitis due to S. Schenckii is reported. Amphotericin-B was successfully used in the treatment. Fungi isolated from CSF culture were morphologically identified as 8. Schenckii; their inoculation in rat's testicle determined the inflammatory reaction proper to sporotrichosis. Cultures made with material from these lesions permitted to isolate S. Schenckii again. The complement fixation test for sporotrichosis was positive in the CSF and blood serum.
