A case of intra and extramedular hemangio-endothelioma of the spinal cord is presented. The clinical, laboratory and radiological findings pointed to a spinal tumor at C5. The patient, a 35 year old man, was operated on and an intra and extramedullar hard and red vascular tumor was found in the dorsal portion of the cervical cord. Microscopic examination proved the tumor to be an hemangio-endothelioma. The extramedullar portion was extirpated and X ray therapy course was given post-operatively. Improvement was quite satisfactory. Spastic paraplegia decreased, sensory examination was normal and the patient, who was before bedridden, was already able to walk by himself in the 39th post-operative day.
