ABSTRACT
The author recognizes that gave up trying to make a "broad panorama of Latin American performance." He confesses his inability for such a task and suspects that it is an impossible mission. On the other hand, he seeks to relate the reasons and sources that led did him to that conclusion. He contents himself with starting a controversy, perhaps too hard, about the reasons why an art form, that would be so innate to Brazil, has far less appreciation here than in the rest of the continent to which the country belongs.
