Intersections between art and documentary are discussed in the article through four contemporary Brazilian films subdivided into two semantic forms: documentary made by artists and documentary about artists. Based on Arthur Omar's Folia no morro (2008), Cao Guimarães' Andarilho (2007), Gustavo Rosa de Moura's Cildo (2008) and Marcos Ribeiro's A obra de arte (2009), we will treat the concepts of anamorphosis and onthology, which include "unframed" and "framed" forms of making art of documentary (or docu-art) and art in documentary (or documentary about art).
