Soybean green grains on six different locations of Mato Grosso do Sul State during 2004/2005 growing season

This study was conducted aiming to verify the occurrence of green grains. Eight soybean cultivars were tested in six environments of Mato Grosso do Sul State during 2004/2005 crop season. The experimental design was a randomized block, with three replications. Average temperature and precipitation data were collected in meteorological stations near two experimental fields. Grain yield was evaluated and, after six months of storage, the green grains, the percentage and the mass of one hundred seeds were evaluated. Barreirão locality was superior, with grain yields above 4000 kg ha-1 . For the percentage of green grains, a great instability was observed, with the cultivars being differently influenced in each place. Based on climatic data, it was not possible to characterize the main effect that justifies the great variation in the percentage of green grains, as observed in Ponta Porã and Sidrolândia.
