The aculeus tip of Anastrepha turpiniae Stone resembles those of A. fraterculus (Wied.) and A. zenildae Zucchi. Therefore, A. turpiniae can be confused with these two species. However, A. turpiniae differs from A. fraterculus and from A. zenildae by having aculeus tip more slender. Additionally, its aculeus tip is longer than in A. fraterculus and the serrate portion is shorter than in A. zenildae. Anastrepha turpiniae had been previously recorded in Brazil, in the State of Minas Gerais (unknown host). New distribution and host records, based on this paper, are: State of Amazonas (from Terminalia catappa), State of Goiás (from T. catappa and Andira humilis) and State of São Paulo (from Eugenia dodoneifolia, Psidium guajava, Prunus persica and Syzygium jambos).
