We report the occurence of the bamboo aphid, Takecallis taiwanus (Takahashi) (Homoptera: Aphididae) in Contagem, Minas Gerais State. This aphid was observed causing injuries on leaves and shoots of bamboo Phyllostachys cf. aurea A & C. Reveerii. This is the first record of this aphid on bamboo in Brazil.
