The species of Scarabaeidae s. str. collected in a 100 ha secondary forest fragment near Rio Branco, Acre State, are listed, with general comments on genera and species represented. Thirty-six species have been captured (16 identified to generic level), representing 12 genera and five tribes (Ateuchini, Canthonini, Eurysternini, Onthophagini and Phanaeini). The results present 16 new state records and two new country records (Ontherus edentulus Génier, 1996 and Dichotomius ohausi [Luederwaldt, 1923]). With this study, the number of species known to occur in Acre State increased from 9 to 36, confirming the poor knowledge on Acrean scarabs.
