The article comprises three parts. The first one is concerned with the elements of the Latin-American environmental history which could set off an insight into the theoretical field of Political Ecology. The second one discusses the idea of "inheritance" that can be received from part of the intellectual Marxist tradition. The third part refers to Nicolai Danielson's analyses, comprises his correspondence with Marx and with Engels, and may lead to an environmental reflection.
