The text addresses evaluation as an essential knowledge for teachers' work processes. Facing the external evaluation processes increasingly more present in the context of educational policies, the authors propose that the processes of teacher education incorporate a discussion about institutional evaluation presenting it as a mediation between the evaluation of learning and the evaluation of systems. The articulation between the three levels of evaluation reverberates in the processes of qualification of the forms of participation of the teacher in the pedagogical project and indirectly improves the students' learning.
