Orientation of CBERS-2B images using the collinearity rigorous model with orbital data

Nowadays, orbital imaging is one of the main techniques for collecting geospatial information. Orbital imaging systems are equipped with direct orientation sensors. However, the images corrected using the orientation data (ephemeris and attitude) provided by these sensors are not always suitable for applications that require high metric accuracy. An alternative to this problem is the orientation of these images using orbital information (ephemeris and attitude) with ground control points. The aim of this work is to experimentally assess the collinearity model with orbital data in the CBERS-2B images orientation process. The model was implemented in the in-house developed software TMS (Triangulation with Multiple Sensors), considering the multissensor triangulation approach. Experiments with CCD and HRC level 1 images (with only radiometric correction) were accomplished. The results showed the importance of using orbital data in the orientation process, providing solution with few ground control points.
