Methodology of delimitation in the archaeological site Cipoal do Araticum in Trombetas River, State of Pará, Brazil

The article presents strategies for delimitation and spatial analysis using a Geographic Information System (GIS) at the archaeological site PA-127-OR: Cipoal do Araticum. The site is located in the municipality of Oriximiná, State of Pará, Brazil, and was identified during the development of archaeological researches in the vicinity of the river Trombetas. The application of GIS allowed to view and correlate four different variables (soil color, quantity of pottery and litchis, and topography) to make inferences on spatial organization of the site.
