The article deals with characteristics of Brazilian archaeological heritage and focus on its monumentality, greatness, and magnificence, besides its extraordinary aspect, in consideration of its preservation. The paper also discusses the pertinence of the development of a specific agenda dealing with low archaeological visibility sites, so that the discipline can build interpretations that contemplate the settlement diversity of different social segments.
