ANNETTE UNDA ENDEMAÑO. PhD in Social Communication from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She has been a predoctoral researcher in the Department of Journalism II with a scholarship from the Basque Government (2020-2023) and currently continues her research career in the same department. Her main research line focuses on the practice of conflict journalism, its professional profiles, and the working and security conditions of Spanish war correspondents.

CLAUDIA TABOADA CASTELL. Predoctoral researcher in the Department of Journalism with a scholarship from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication from the University of Havana (2017) and Master’s degree in Communication and Culture from the University of Seville. She has worked in the Communication and Information Office at the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Havana, and from 2017 to 2019 she was responsible for corporate communication for the Caguayo Foundation for Applied Arts in Cuba.

LEIRE ITURREGUI MARDARAS. Associate Professor (2019). PhD from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (2011). In the research field, she has participated in twelve research projects funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Basque Government, Bizkaia Provincial Council, University of the Basque Country, and the Basque Studies Society-Eusko Ikaskuntza. She directs the research project of the Ministry of Science and Innovation ‘The security conditions of Spanish journalists covering international conflicts (JOSAFCON)’, valid from 2022 to 2026.

MARÍA JOSÉ CANTALAPIEDRA GONZÁLEZ. Ternure Lecturer in the Department of Journalism at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU). She is the director of the Consolidated Research Group Bitartez, Principal Investigator in twelve competitive research projects, and has been the director and main supervisor of 15 doctoral theses. A driving force behind the spin-off Labak, she is a member of the scientific committee of the Journal of the Spanish Association for Communication Research (RAE-IC).
