Fertilizer experiments with corn: XVI - Trials with various phosphorus sources (2nd series)

The authors report the results of further experiments designed to test the efficiency of various phosphates for corn. This second series consists of three experiments which were conducted in the same plots from 1941-42 to 1944-45 at three localities of the State of São Paulo. In one experiment, located on an area of "terra-roxa-misturada" soil highly deficient in phosphorus, superphosphate was fairly superior to bone meal and much superior to ground apatite (from Ipanema, São Paulo). In the other experiments, one of which was located also on "terra-roxa-misturada" soil and the second on "arenito Bauru" 6oiL both in areas which only in the fourth year showed a moderate response to the phosphorus additions, the three phosphates gave similar results.
