Study of the root system of soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merril) plant

A study of the root distribution of soybean plants was made in Latosol Roxo soil in the State of São Paulo. It was observed that about 70% and 62% of the roots by weight were found in the upper 10 cm layer in plots without and with fertilizer respectively. The rest of the roots was reached a maximum depth of 1.9 m.
