Mineral fertilizers for dry beans: III - Effects of N, P, K,liming and a mixture containing sulfur and micro-nutrients on "massapê-salmourão" soils

Four fertilizer trials were laid out on soils of the "massapê-salmourão" type, in the State of São Paulo, to study the effect of several treatments on the yield of dry beans. Phosphorus did not increase the yield in the trial localized on an area fertilized with NPK in the previous crops, but was highly effective in the three experiments conducted on soils not yet fertilized. Nitrogen depressed the yield in one locality and induced small increases in the other three. The effect of potassium, as well as that of limestone, was positive in only one experiment. The addition of a mixture containing sulfur and micro-nutrients (Zn, Cu, B and Mo) to a NPK fertilizer increased the yields in three localities, but depressed it in one.
