Peanut variety trials

In this paper the results of two series of variety trials with peanut are reported. The experiments were conducted at the counties of Campinas, Ribeirão Preto and Presidente Prudente, in the State of São Paulo, during the years 1955/56 and 1956/57. One of the ten varieties in competition, namely Paulista-269 distinguished both for its pod production and oil content; are promising also the varieties Bandeirante-263, Centenário-264, Brasília-265 and Virgínia-266. The Tatuí-76 variety is a good yielder, with good oil content, while the variety Tatu-53, the most grown all over the State, is one of the lowest yielders.
