An experimental Hevea rubber planting (Tj-1 X. Tj-16 hybrid) was made in the Campinas area to study its behavior on the São Paulo plateaux. The elevation at Campinas is about 663 m and the area is located at 22°53' South and 47°05 West (Greenwich). The annual rainfall is about 1400 mm. Tappings carried out for seven consecutive years gave satisfatory yields. The data abtained indicate that the Hevea rubber plant can be grown profitably on the São Paulo plateaux.
