Effects of boron on sugar cane cultivated in six soils of Piracicaba county: I. plant crop

The authors studied the effects of boron on the behaviour of sugar cane var. CB 41/14 through field experiments with increasing doses (0, 1, 2, 3 and 4 kg/ha B) of this micronutrient to six soils of Piracicaba county, SP, Brazil, classified at serial levels (Sertãozinho, Ibitiruna, Pau d'Alho, Bairrinho, Luiz de Queiroz, and Guamium). Boron did not influence cane growth nor sugar content. Leaf analysis showed high levels independently of the amount of boron added to the soils, revealing their good supplying.
