Solução do problema de superação de disjuntores pela alocação ótima de dispositivos limitadores de corrente de curto-circuito utilizando algoritmos genéticos

This paper presents a methodology for helping in short-circuit limiting studies via the indication of the optimal allocation of fault current limiters in systems where the breaker interruption capability is exceeded. The methodology is modeled as an optimization problem using Genetic Algorithms, taking into consideration the objectives of minimum cost, minimum number of allocated fault current limiters and maximum reduction of the short-circuit level at the system buses. The computational tool developed uses the ANAFAS program to calculate the short-circuit current in order to keep the compatibility with the data base used in short-circuit studies in the Brazilian electricity sector. The methodology has been tested using the IEEE14 system and an actual Brazilian system. The results have confirmed the robustness of the methodology in finding solutions that satisfy the constraints with reduced investments cost for all the analyzed scenarios.
