This paper proposes the continuation power flow using the current injection formulation in rectangular coordinates. The main advantages of this new approach, as compared with the polar conventional methodology, are mainly due to the Jacobian matrix structure, composed basically by the nodal admittance matrix elements. The simulations carried out using many different test systems, validate the proposed methodology.
