ABSTRACT:
This article discusses the organization of the social educational environment for musical creation in childhood, based on Vygotsky’s theory and a research carried out with children in a community riverine of the Amazon. The results demonstrate that the social environment organized by the teacher, involving children’s relationships with time, spaces, materials and people, allowed the free expression and musical creation. It is concluded that the concept of social educational environment is potent to base a pedagogical work focused on the musical creation in childhood.
