The Theory of Social Representations (TRS) began to be widely known and disseminated after 1990 in the Brazilian field of Social Psychology. This movement coincided with the increasing environmental concern of some Brazilian groups and the defense of Reigota's doctoral dissertation on Education, which articulated those trends. After this author published his first two books, TRS has become an option for research on environmental education. Its approximation to Cultural Studies and both Freire's and post-modern pedagogies allowed to develop further works. One of them, which originated this article, refers to the political and pedagogical contributions to environmental education of Frans Krajcberg's life and work. These are stressed in the narratives some members of the research group called "Ecologist Perspective of Education", from Sorocaba University, wrote after they came to discover this artist's work, in Curitiba.
