After all, what does work as an educational principle mean in Gramsci's writings?

The aim of this paper is to identify the place that the idea of work as an educational principle occupies in Gramsci's theoretical perspective. This is a principle that he takes from the humanist school, which intended to develop, in each individual, the ability to think and to rule one's own life. The concept and the fact of work are its educational principle because it takes into account the relation among men, which creates different types of society, civil laws, politics, government, the State, as well as the relationship between men and nature, which creates science and technique. This is the educational principle that Gramsci presents as a reference for the unitary school, thinking about Marx's notion of work, the formation of rulers and the construction of hegemony. The dissemination of his educational proposition, nevertheless, ignored its relationship with the intellectual and moral reform process, the preparation of rulers, the construction of hegemony. It was reduced to the polithecnicism of the soviet model, founded on the new school theories. This is the central focus of this paper.
