Development of gas sensors based on nanostructured SnO2: the influence of microstructrure on sensors performance

Nanometric SnO2.Nb2O5 powders were studied for the development of ethanol sensor. These powders were prepared by Pechini's method, morphologically characterized by X-ray diffraction, determination of specific superficial area by BET and Transmission Eletrocnic Microscopy, and submitted to tests of sensitivity for ethanol vapor. A correlation taking into account the microstructure of the material, the effects of the dopant and the response of the sensor was established.
