BIOMECHANIC EVALUATION OF WORKERS IN THE ACTIVITIES OF PROPAGATION OF Eucalyptus spp.

ABSTRACT

The present work was developed based on data collected in a plant propagation nursery in the municipality of Belo Oriente, in the Vale do Rio Doce, Minas Gerais State, Brazil. The study was carried out with workers of a forest nursery, through which a biomechanic evaluation was made. This evaluation was carried out through a tridimensional analysis, using the technique of recording in video tape, with the worker various angles. The movements were “frozen”, for the mensuration of the angles of the various parts of the body. The forces involved were measured for the use of the computational program of the tridimensional biomechanic model of prediction of posture and static forces developed by the University of Michigan. The results indicated that the biomechanic analysis presented a compression force of the L5/S1 disk, above the load limit recommended for the activities of supplyng the seedling tubes to the washer, remotion of the seedling tubes from the washer and transportation of branches for the preparation of cuttings.
