ABSTRACT
The present study evaluated the diameter growth of Podocarpus lambertii trees from two phytogeographical regions in Rio Grande do Sul State, Brazil, denominated 'Campos de Cima da Serra' and 'Depressão Central'. The data were obtained using Stem Analysis and described by the Logistic growth model. The asymptote and growth rate were randomized by a non-linear mixed model to verify differences in their performances in both regions. The growth model explained 85 % of the total variation in the tree growth trajectory and the variance component was significant and consistent and revealed that trees growing in 'Campos de Cima da Serra' region presented a higher diameter growth rate.
