The applied research guiding the decision-making process in public policies: The experience of the National School of Public Administration

ABSTRACT

This article aims to understand the application of evidence-based policymaking strategies in teaching public administration in Brazil. The study focuses on the role of schools of government as applied teaching and research institutions, presenting the case study of the recent trajectory of ENAP (the National School of Public Administration). The findings show that the production of evidence for public policies and the bridge between teaching and public service are central elements of the performance of schoos of government, contributing so that learning programs remain relevant and up-to-date with social and economic trends, as well as emerging policies and government priorities.
