Solutions for judicialized public issues: An interdisciplinary practice between the public field and law

ABSTRACT

This article reflects on the experience of the university extension project Building Collaborative Solutions for Judicialized Public Issues, highlighting the potential of the Public Field in the debate about judicialized public issues. The study was based on bibliographic and documentary research and interviews with students who participated in the extension project. The results showed the lessons learned from participating in the project and from the Undergraduate Program in Public Policy Management of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, which is related to the extension project. Also, the findings show the benefits of extension projects to motivate participants to engage in innovative learning opportunities. The study demonstrates the potential of the project to contribute to mediating judicialized public conflicts and, equally, to strengthening the link between knowledge and teaching, research, and extension. The project has achieved concrete results, expanding the dialogue between the many institutions involved.
