Taking into consideration the innumerable school profits, this article intends to make a reflection on those which can be associated with the information process from collection through information retrieval, compromising their use in knowledge production. This way, this article tries to prove that knowledge about the processes of information organization and use, produced or collected by information science, can be a significant contribution for managers both of school units and the teaching systems themselves. The aspects of Information Science directly related to the problems mentioned are pointed out, with the hope that this theme will be object of studies by this area in order to lead our education to a stage closer to that ideal project which is expected.
